What is your story?

We all have a story.

Most have simply forgotten.

Today all I leave you with are some questions I was invited to think about and I invite you to take 10 minutes to do the same. It will be a gift you give yourself; just a few minutes in your busy schedule to reflect. Yes, you do have the time and yes, it might just be a great investment of your time. After all, it is your life. The only one you have.

As we mature we forget about the power of story. We forget that most of what we know in life came about as a result of a story. Storytelling is something that is unique to our species. It is one of the things that defines us as human and they help us understand ourselves, the world we live in, and our history.

Stories have their own life, their own energy and they are able to transport the reader immediately to a time gone by, or into a future still to be created. Storytelling unites people, driving stronger, and deeper connections.

You too have a story.

finding your story
  • What did you find magical as a child?
  • Was there anything you really wanted to do but were not allowed to?
  • Was there anything about your house that scared you?
  • What tangible or intangible gifts are still important to you?
  • What has been the most important turning point in your life?
  • What is the single biggest mistake you have made?
  • How do you handle disappointment?
  • Are you satisfied with the life choices you have made?
  • What has been the happiest time, era, year or day in your life?
  • What was the worst time in your life?
  • What relationships in your life have been the most significant?
  • What are some of the things you hope you never forget?
  • What do you do that makes you feel deeply alive?
  • What is that one thing you still ache to do?
  • If your life was a verse in the poem of life, what would your verse say?

Be honest when considering these questions, maybe for the first time No-one but you will be reading the answers and for a moment, suspend judgement when answering. You do not have to justify your answers to anyone.

Have fun.

Surrender ≠ Giving Up

Surrender = embracing uncertainty, letting go of the illusion of control, and realising how constantly fighting for it exhausts us. Rumi advises, “Embrace uncertainty; only
